Defensive Coordinator
JOHN CLARKE
Coach Clarke graduated from George Mason University in Virginia in 1979. JC coached football and basketball at Falls Church High School in Virginia from 1975-1980. He has also coached at Colton High School (1982), Milikin High School (1983-1987), Long Beach Wilson (1988-1996), and Irvine High (1997-2003). JC has coached defensive linebackers and defensive backs, has been a defensive coordinator for 21 years, and has been a head coach for Long Beach Wilson for four years. Coach Clarke and his lovely wife, Robyn, have 5 children: Kevin, Kelly, Kaitlyn, Justin, and Lauren.

DEAN TOOHEY
The 2024 season marks Coach Toohey’s 26th year of coaching high school football and his 25th year at Northwood. At Northwood, Coach Toohey helped lead the Timberwolves to three consecutive Pacific Coast League championships and five trips to the CIF playoffs. The football program has benefited from his Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Ends coach positions. Coach Toohey resides in Tustin with his lovely wife Sandie and their two sons, Dylan (29), a Northwood graduate and former football player, and Colin (25).

DILLON LEWIS
Coach Lewis coached the JV football team before taking over as the Offensive Coordinator. This is his fifth year coaching at Northwood, and he looks forward to working with and challenging the students. His passion is sports. He attended Concordia University and pursued a career in Business Sports Management. He is the proud parent of his dog Riley.

DAVE HARPER
Coach Harper is starting his 18th season with the Timberwolves Varsity staff after coaching four years at the lower levels. Coach Harper attended Magnolia High School and graduated from California State University at Fullerton. Coach Harper resides in Irvine with his wife, Annie. They are the proud parents of two sons, Matt and Kyle, both of whom played football for the Timberwolves.

Quarterbacks
MIKE STEWART
Coach Stewart begins his 11th year on the Timberwolves Varsity coaching staff. He has previously coached at Woodbridge High School and San Luis Obispo High School as a DB and WR coach. Coach Stewart also coaches basketball and track and field at Northwood. Coach Stewart played college football at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as a safety and was an NCAA National Championship team member. He also works at Northwood High School with the Special Education Department and as the coordinator of the Athletics Department tutorial. He is married to Monica and has two sons, Michael and Tyler.
Defensive Backs & Running Backs
MICKEY DICKSON
This season, Coach Dickson begins his 24th year teaching science at Northwood. During that time, he has coached all three levels, working with running backs, wide receivers, linebackers, and defensive backs. Before coming to Northwood, Coach Dickson taught and coached in Long Beach for 10 years, serving as the defensive coordinator. This year, Coach Dickson will work with running backs and defensive backs. Coach Dickson resides in Aliso Viejo with his wife, Brynn.
Athletic Trainer
ANDY SEPULVEDA
Andy Sepulveda has been the athletic trainer for all sports at Northwood for the last 26 years. Andy was a three-sport superstar in Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball as an El Modena High School student. She then went on to graduate from Chapman University. Andy is passionate about her role and will always do what is best for her athletes. You can spot her on the sidelines during practices and games, ensuring the players are healthy and ready to go. Andy loves all NHS athletes and sports but says that she loves the sport of wrestling and works a lot of OC Championship matches on weekends, including CIF and Masters.
Frosh/Soph Head Coach
TONY MUNIZ
Coach Muniz is a special education teacher here at Northwood. This is his 7th year coaching football and 14th year as the jumps coach for Track and Field. Tony has 3 sons – Jackson, Lucas, and Dylan. Coach Muniz’s nephews, Cole Hidalgo and Roman Suarez, play on the varsity and junior teams. His favorite athlete is jockey Kent Desormeaux.
